Chromite Powder

Chromite powder is also known as chromite ore flour. Chromite powder is a natural spinel product of South Africa’s natural chromite ore after crushing and sieving. We import crushing Chrome ore from South Africa, wash, dry, dust cleaning, sieve, and pack in China port, then export to all over the world directly, and its main chemical composition is Cr2O3. And we are batching to typical Particle size distributions as per customers’ requirements. Our standard material is a 4-sieve distribution. This means that four sieves contain more than 10% retained. Our current material has more than 90% on the ASTM 40-100 sieves.

CHROMITE POWDER APPLICATIONS:

Chromite Powder in the foundry industry

Its properties enable the material to be used in high duty grey iron and steel foundries as core and mould making sand. Its high thermal conductivity gives it good chilling properties; low thermal expansion gives rise to good dimensional stability. Its basicity being close to neutral allows the use of a wide range of resin bonding systems and inorganic binders, it has high refractoriness and a broad sieve distribution.

Chromite Powder in the steel industry

In steel production, Chromite Sand has used filler to protect the sliding gate in large steel holding ladles.

Chromite Powder in the glass industry

When ground to a fine flour, Chromite Sand is used to producing green glass beverage containers.
